I know they say don’t really pick rhubarb after June but I’ve just noticed my Rhubarb has loads of thick new stalks.
Does anyone here pick Rhubarb this late in the season? I’d just pick a few for freezing not the whole lot.

Not usually as we leave the plant to build itself up for the next season.

Yes I do, I’ve been keeping mine watered and it’s huge, so a few stalks won’t do any harm, I always pick a bit throughout the season. I wouldn’t do it on a plant that was already struggling though.

I wouldn't usually, but this year its still flourishing, but then we haven't had a heatwave or a drout here in Cumbria.

I wish we could correct typos - drought is the word!

I picked some a few days ago - chose the thinner stalks rather than very thick ones which I thought might be tough. Used it with fresh figs (see other thread about glut!) to make jam. Came out very well!

Thanks I’ll pick just a few.
