Can anyone recommend a gentle everyday perfume that is long lasting but isn't overpowering? I like flowery scents.

Something not too expensive which I have loved for decades is Anais Anais (the original one not the new variety). It’s very pretty and I find it lasts well.

I like that one, too. I used to like white linen.

I have just bought...Arianna Grande God is a Woman....Its beautiful...£32 for 50mls....

I like the Daisy range. Some are more gentle than others but nothing over powering.

Just Pink from Next is an inexpensive perfume for every day. Pretty floral scent that’s not too overpowering. They do other perfumes that are just as nice. Hard to choose between them.

Cashmere, another Next fragrance.

I like the pure floral scents made by Yardley and they produce matching body cream and talcum powder .

Marks and Sparks have some florals too .
I also like Daisy and Anais Anais .
I haven't tried the other recommendations , but I shall .

Noa by Cacharel is light and whenever I wear it I get comments like ‘ooh you smell nice’! Its not overpowering, it has a fresh, lightly floral scent.

Me too! I just bought one in the belief it was floral and it's a horrid scent. Called Flower Bomb so I dis-recommend it.

I decided to make up my own mixture. I am going to try mixture of rose and lily of the valley.

I like Ted Baker perfumes,, they are light and flowery but not too overpowering, I find them ideal for everyday use.

Oh yes - I’ve bought that one before and then gave it away! ?

I had a beautiful one for my birthday last year - an expensive one which I only use when I need cheering up or am going out somewhere nice - Tiffany (by Tiffany). Another one I like is Coco Mademoiselle and YSL’s Rive Gauche. I also like Elizabeth Arden’s Green Tea.
I’m a little addicted to nice smells ? and that goes for room diffusers ?

Jo Malone has beautiful floral fragrances, they are not the cheapest but they last well, my current favourites Orange Blossom along with Lime, Basil and Mandarin.

Also Jo Loves.

I have L’Eau D’Issey City Blossom by Issey Miyake, which is a lovely floral perfume. It’s not too overpowering and I’ve just put some on, if you’d like to smell it ?

SueDonim Wed 31-Aug-22 13:01:55

Chance Eau Fraiche by Chanel. I wear it in summer. It’s floral with a citrus layer too, very light but it lasts.

Georgesgran Wed 31-Aug-22 13:02:16

Re: Jo Malone - one of the cheaper supermarkets A or L does a range of stuff based on those fragrances and they’re very good. Had one of the candles as a gift and couldn’t tell the difference.

Visgir1 Wed 31-Aug-22 13:06:36

Depends on how much you want to spend?
I like Jo Malone, but day time /work I buy Clarins. They do 3 stable ones and occasionally add a 4th.

Joseanne Wed 31-Aug-22 13:27:17

I like Noa by Cacherel too mamaa. It's peony based isn't? As you say, it's very fresh and light.
DD has a similar Miss Dior one, I can't remember the name, might be Blooming Bouquet.

I like Jimmy choo original …. Go and have a sniff!

Nansypansy Wed 31-Aug-22 13:30:32

I think it’s the No.3

Nansypansy Wed 31-Aug-22 13:31:25

The Aldi copy of Jo Malone ….

Thinking of floral scents the one that comes to mind is L’air du temps. So light and pretty.
I also like the Marc Jacobs perfumes Daisy, dream, kiss etc.

Esspee Wed 31-Aug-22 13:59:12

I love L'air du temps. The cream perfume lasts the longest.

Germanshepherdsmum Wed 31-Aug-22 15:04:58

L’Air du Temps always reminds me of the best secretary I ever had, by a country mile. She died suddenly, too young.
