Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s probably going to rain soon.

Childminding day today, we were there overnight on Tuesday helping with the school run the next morning, I certainly wouldn’t have the energy for that every day.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from a wet Bristol. I hope it’ll clear by the time I leave for Spanish. The last class before Easter.
Yesterday , after the usual fight for an emergency appointment at the optician, I left home at 10 for a bus.
I saw someone, who wasn’t sure what I had, called his supervisor who said she thought it was an infection of the white of my eye and I had to go to the eye hospital asap. I bought myself a sandwich on the way and got registered there.
The usual tests and 3 hour wait. The specialist did more tests and too many bright lights, etc., told me I had an inflammation of the iris. ( I had no idea that could happen!). I have been prescribed steroid eye drops to be put in hourly for one week, reducing by an hour weekly, for seven weeks. I am to be reviewed in a fortnight.
The prescription was dispensed at the Royal Infirmary on another campus. Got there, had yet another wait…. I finally left by 5 pm. Excellent and kind treatment, but, oh, the patience one needs. Fortunately, I had bought a new book with me and was halfway through it by the end!
I took the bus to see an anxious DD who I’d kept informed throughout, in my new “openness”.
I got home at 8pm. It had been a very long day.
My eye feels a great deal better already, most of the pain in my eyeball has gone, which is good.
I hope Urms has a good journey home after her break. Hugs all round. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a calm and mild Torbay.

After a misty start yesterday, the sun broke through so I girded up my loins (ie dug out my recently acquired walking poles!) and headed for a walk over the Downs. The weather was perfect with blue skies and warm enough for me to enjoy sitting on a bench for a while.

I suggest you wrap up warmly for your outings, Mick as we feel the cold more as we grow older especially with health issues.
What a long day, grandMattie but it sounds like you’ve received good treatment and it must be a relief to feel improvement already.

My DD2 whose, school is in Staffs., breaks up for Easter today but her own children who are in Cheshire schools finish one day next week.

A happy day is wished to all. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Morning Mick, morning All from a damp corner of Somerset. Should be dry later.

Flitting about, OK moving very slowly from Dunelm to The Range, yesterday morning I was so pleased to finally find a kitchen bin to fit a very small space, simple things cheer me these days. Mr C won the battle of the wardrobe top boxes and you know he was right. From floor to bed, from bed to resting on the top of a step ladder I was perched on to the top of the wardrobe. Easy. How smug was he? Everything now back in place. Wonderful.

Still grumping about the doors yesterday evening had Mr C honing his planned ignoring/selective deafness skills until a message from our carpenters. Could they come this morning and was 8am too early? I’d have agreed to 6am! I know, as my Dad would have said, worse things happen at sea but such a weight lifted.

Must remove some dust at some point this morning and looking forward to Tai Chi this afternoon

With thoughts to all finding life hard going. Hope Friday is gentle with us all.

RosesandLilac Fri 22-Mar-24 06:34:01

Good morning from a grey skied south Glos, I can see the sky from my bed because I don’t have any curtains up while the decorating is underway. It will be finished this morning and I am so pleased with it.
I did have blue walls but, oh my, it’s been making the room so gloomy I was getting quite miserable about it so white walls it is!
I will get the furniture back in later.
I hope your eye clears up very soon grandMattie, iritis is very painful I believe (my friend gets bouts of it, necessitating a trip to the same eye hospital as you) 💐
Have a peaceful day, hugs for anyone who needs them 🌹

Mizuna Fri 22-Mar-24 06:42:48

Good morning from Cornwall where it's rainy and bright. Found myself in a secondhand bookshop yesterday and came back with a heavy backpack of non-fiction reading. Yippee. The gulls have arrived here with beaks full of twigs right above my stairwell. They peck at the corrugated plastic roofing and I answer my door in response. I'm going to try not to react to the constant banging on my window this year, but we'll see how that goes. It's only every day until September, after all. 🤪

My 'boys' forgetting they're in their 40's in the pic. Long may it last.

gM my friend has frequent iris infections but specifically as a side effect of rheumatoid arthritis. So glad you had good care.

karmalady Fri 22-Mar-24 06:48:54

Good morning from s somerset, we will have a dry day and a bit of sun

I would like to see you taking a bit more rest GM. You have been through the wars in the recent past and you need to recover, always busy but that comes at a cost, your body and mind need to heal

I am going to, mostly, be indoors today. I want to do a little bit of cleaning and a bit of zen sewing, perhaps have my breaks outside, just sitting in the sun. I need to keep up with myself

Have a good day

Greyduster Fri 22-Mar-24 06:50:17

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The weather palette is all cool greys this morning. Had a lovely walk yesterday with the Thursday group, but it was very boggy in places after all the rain we’ve had. Not as bad as DS and DiL who were walking up Tarn How in the Lake District and by the time they got back down were soaked through to their socks and underwear!
Volunteering at school this afternoon then hoping to cut the front lawn if it stays dry.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Georgesgran Fri 22-Mar-24 06:52:23

Good morning from a dry Durham. I missed the gardener yesterday, but at least the grass is cut and the border tidied. I’ve ordered lawn stuff and I’ll apply that myself before his next visit.
Coffee with a friend first, then a blitz around Tesco later.
A long day gM but a relief to get your eye treated.
The Octopus saga continues - they’re going to send someone out to inspect the meter.
Best wishes to all. X

Bellasnana Fri 22-Mar-24 06:58:16

Good morning from another lovely sunny day here in Malta.

It’s DD3’s 35th birthday today. I remember that day so clearly. She was an easy birth, I didn’t need pain relief and it was all over quite quickly!

So sorry to hear of your long ordeal yesterday GM. Hopefully life will get fed up of upsetting you soon and you’ll get the peace you deserve.💐

I’m with the boys who are playing happily. I took them out yesterday and hadn’t realised how hot it was so I was a sweaty mess by the time we returned.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 22-Mar-24 07:06:02

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It looks dry and springlike.
OH is off target shooting today and then to a bee lecture this evening. I will make lemon ice cream, finish off the WI admin and maybe a bit of dusting. Ive also got to pop into our nearby town and move some money around.
Glad your eye is sorted out GM. Hope Urms has a good journey back. I expect her short trip has done the world of good.

Susan56 Fri 22-Mar-24 07:07:54

Good morning from Shropshire.A dry day forecast.

The MRI went better than I had hoped. When I was led out to the mobile unit my heart sank but a lovely young man was very encouraging and gently talked me through the whole experience.I hope that’s the last one for a while🤞🏻

Today DH hopes to mow the lawns while I start preparing for the family arriving for a few days next week.Lists to be written!

grandMattie what a day you had.You must be exhausted.Look after yourself.

Well done on moving the boxes corner and am glad the carpenters are coming today.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Gingster Fri 22-Mar-24 07:15:25

Good morning all and it’s dull herein Essex.

Took Dd to A and E yesterday and saw a GP who is fairly sure is appendicitis. They put her on a drip for sickness and hydration. Still waiting for a scan and she was admitted to a ward last evening. Waiting to hear this morning.
As you say GM you have to have the patience of a saint.

Litt,e DGD is still snoozing . She’s such a good girl but misses her mum terribly. I’ll take her to school and await the day.

Take care all 🌷

luluaugust Fri 22-Mar-24 07:15:58

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. A very small number at art group yesterday and reports of illness. DH picked me up and we went to a local garden and had lunch followed by a trip to a jewellers for DD2 ‘s 50th birthday present. Today shopping and regular GS duties
gM what a long day hope the drops get working soon
Best wishes to all

Marydoll Fri 22-Mar-24 07:16:10

Good morning all from a showery Glasgow, its 5°C.

Mick heart and lung issues do make us more susceptible to feeling the cold. I find layering works. I am usually in a fur coat, with multiple layers and DH is usually wearing a t shirt!

A long day for you, GM, but pleased to hear there is already some improvement. Best to get these things checked out.

Baubles, I know what you mean. After an unexpectedly long day with Babydoll yesterday, I messaged DD, saying I had decided to have no more children with DH, it's too much like hard work. 😆
We thought we had won a watch, when they dropped the baby off, no need to travel the twenty minutes to their home. However, we had totally misunderstood.
The plan was they were going to drop their car home, get the train to town and make a day of it!

Babydoll had been at a photoshoot at a local photographer's (he had been looking for models) and was beautifully dressed. Not for long!
She devoured her first tine bowl of home made chicken soup, so I gave her some mixed berries and left papa in charge. How could I have been so foolish to expect him to be vigilant!
Despite a Van Gogh style smock, which had been Dollie's, her beautiful, cream trousers were stained a bright shade of cerise pink. I did have the foresight to take off her top, but her vest now had a beautiful pink polka dot pattern. 🤣
Vanish stain remover is one of life's miracle inventions!!
If only she had taken the cucumber, DIL had originally left for her, but she threw it at me in disgust! That girl knows what she likes!!
As we left DS' at 6.30pm, still not having had dinner, I said to Mr MD. I am too tired to cook, l"et's go to the chippy at the bottom of the road.^The food was like nectar!^ I finished it off with a slice of the delicious Star Wars birthday cake, DD made for DS.
DS was forty two yesterday an got a new, Star Wars Light Saber, to add to his collection.
He has never grown up!

brook safe journey and Susan, I hope the MRI went smoothly.
Gingster, I hope your daughter got the support she needs and that GrannyGray is now able to move with less pain.

This week has been full on, so a quick trip to Sainsbury's and then in for the day.
I had another episode of night terrors last night ( I don't know what is going on), I am pretty exhausted.

Have a good day folks.

monk08 Fri 22-Mar-24 07:16:43

Good morning all from a dull Black country where it looks like we had rain overnight.
granMattie what a long day but a relief you now have treatment for it.
Mizuna 'boys' never grow up, my DiL would find that water very inviting she is a cold water swimmer.
DH has more blood tests today. I shall finish my book, then we are meeting friends at the club later.
Safe travels home Urms enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️

GrannyGravy13 Fri 22-Mar-24 07:17:42

Morning all from a grey S E Essex, I am longing for a blue sky…

My plans changed yesterday afternoon, I saw my GP Wednesday am about a lump on my scalp and was told she would refer me, I had a phone call yesterday am to ask if I could go into the clinic at 4.15pm so I cleared the decks and off I trotted. I should hear from the Consultant within 5-7 days. Not sure if I should be impressed with the NHS or scared due to their hastiness.

I need to sort out clothes for upcoming family holiday (4 AC and wives, 6GC, my sister and DH and their two DD’s). The children range from 4 - 15 I desperately need my back to be better and my mojo to be on 100% I know what this group of Imps have planned for me 😱🤣

I hope your eye improves grandMattie
We can tell when the sea is rough as the seagulls take up residence on the field next to us 😡

Safe journey home to humself Urmstongran

Have a good day everyone 🙋‍♀️

kittylester Fri 22-Mar-24 07:18:57

Good morning all from a grey and damp North Leicestershire.

Not a lot going on here today. DH has a volunteer drive this afternoon but I will enjoy an empty with down time.

Enjoy your days everyone.

Urmstongran Fri 22-Mar-24 07:25:38

Good morning all I’m homeward bound with a flight from Málaga early afternoon. If all’s straightforward I shall be able to give Himself a great big hug at 5pm. I’ve enjoyed my holiday very much but I’ve missed my darling man. That said, FaceTime has been a great way to keep in touch.
✈️

Here’s Matt.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and sunny. We've had heavy rain overnight and there are still raindrops on the windows but beautiful blue skies now. GrandMattie you have had a terrible time recently. I'm glad you were seen about your eye. Susan I'm a big fan of lists! Cornergran fingers crossed that the doors are sorted today. Bellasnana a happy birthday to your dd.
Yesterday was a quiet day again but I needed it. I fell asleep in the afternoon for a couple of hours and that put me out of sorts for the rest of the day. I went to bed really early and amazingly slept really well with only a couple of toilet breaks.
Today dd is going to nip in with dgs2 as part of a Friday tradition. I look forward to it. If it stays dry, I'll get into the garden for a while. It's looking scraggy and needs tidying. I will definitely need to go to Aldi as I'm out or nearly out of most essentials. Have a good day all.

Grandmachrisy47 Fri 22-Mar-24 07:36:35

Good morning from a dry, bright Lancashire. After a four journey I arrived at my dear sister and brother in law’s.
For the first time ever I requested assistance getting my suitcase on and off the trains. Pleasant journey.
I think the plan for today is a visit to Boundary Mill. Not sure where it is, but not too far away.
Missed your posts yesterday. Hope everyone is ok.

Kalu Fri 22-Mar-24 07:41:53

Good morning from Glasgow. The rain has stopped and the sun is shining so far…..

Yesterday turned out to be much busier than I expected but it was a constructive day in which I steadily got through with a welcome break meeting up with my cousin for a coffee catch up after doing our shopping at Waitrose. It will be an at home day and weather permitting I may be lucky enough to spend some time in the garden.

Have the best day possible all.

Alygran Fri 22-Mar-24 07:45:50

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sun is shining.
DD2 is coming today and a friend is visiting today too. We are off to the Lent lunch for home made soup.
Shopping first, the fridge is empty.
Off to an Indian restaurant this evening.
I enjoyed the NFT ‘The motive and the cue’ last evening. Fabulous performances of Burton and Gielgud.
Safe travels urms
Have a good day everyone.

Pittcity Fri 22-Mar-24 07:48:46

Good morning from a mild but wet Colchester. I went back to sleep when DH got up and have only just surfaced.
The heating bumping on usually wakes me but it hasn't been needed this week.
We have no plans except needing a big shop.
DS found out yesterday that he has Easter leave and so will be home tonight for an unspecified length of time.
Schools break up here on Thursday and have the 2 weeks after Easter off.
Love to all 🦩 x
