I agree with many of the suggestions already made and would add Rebecca Tope, J.R. Ellis (as well as Joy Ellis), T.G. Reid, Rachel Maclean and L.J. Ross.

Glad to see L.J. Ross on the suggestions, I've just discovered her.

Also M.C. Beaton for her Agatha Raisin and Hamish Macbeth series. The Agatha Raisins are SO much better than the drossy tv series loosely based on them!

NotAGran55 Tue 05-Mar-24 06:26:54

Cara Hunter’s DI Adam Fawley series set in Oxford.

CornflowerBlue Tue 05-Mar-24 07:09:15

Tim Weaver, Peter James and Harlen Coben are my favourites! I've read all theirs!

Ailidh Tue 05-Mar-24 07:36:10

Oo and also if you like historical crime fiction:
Deryn Lake's John Rawlings series
Robin Paige's Victorian Mystery series
Edward Marston's Railway detective series

All of the above mix well-researched historical fact with fiction.
