1.Avoid alliteration always
2.Prepositions are not words to end sentences with.
3.Avoid cliches like the plague, they are old hat.
4. Comparisons are as bad as cliches
5. Be more or less specific
6. Writers should never generalise
Seven. Be consistent
8. Don't be redundant, don't use any more words than absolutely necessary. It's highly superfluous.
9. Who needs rhetorical questions?
10. Exaggeration is a billion times worse than understatement

Can I just say in the hope that I do not upset or offend anyone as this is defently not my intention, that this Thread really sounds like it is coming from a retired Teacher which to me is brilliant. When my children were at school I could immediatley tell the Teachers that loved the job and wanted to Teach and the Teachers that did it purley as a job to get money.

I so respected and loved the Teachers that were passionate about Teaching and always wondered if they ever really knew what a difference they made to those childrens lives.

(It was originally spotted in a bookshop window, however.)
