Nature v nurture again

The results of a research project have just been reported. Genetics apparently count for more variation between children's achievement than environment does. I wonder if Gove or his advisers will read the report?www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0080341#s1

Well, I hope that research doesn't get used to excuse acceptance of a poor environment for children, both at home and at school. Or as a reason not to stretch them to the utmost of their abilities.

Would be too easy to say - "poor background - don't bother"! shock
