I'm cooking four pig's trotters at the moment - experimenting with recipes. I wonder if any of our older grans have any recipes they might like to share as I have another sixteen trotters on their way over the next few weeks.
I cooked a pig's head when we were on holiday last week (I mistook it for a frozen pork joint and took it with me to do a 'roast' - you should have seen my mother in law's face when I decided to cook it anyway grin).

My recipe.
1. Open the bin
2. Throw trotters in bin
3. Close lid.

I was tempted suebailey1, but can't get rid of the waste not want not mentality I grew up with. smile

I love pigs trotters! As far as I can remember, I haven't done them for years, just shove them in the pressure cooker in salted water with herbs and garlic, and cook for up to an hour, turn off and leave to cool. Or you can roast them like a mini joint, depending on their size they only take 40 mins or so. I liked to boil them for a while, then remove them and put them under the grill to give them a bit of colour.

I used to love them when I was a child. Strip the skin off then dive in. grin

Mum used to boil them with herbs but no garlic in those days.
