"The 103-year-old looked the part and donned neon green glasses, leg warmers and a tutu, as she danced to some absolute bangers." smile

What a role model!

Proof that care homes needn't be grim and consist of sitting around a blaring tv day in, day out.

Blaring choons instead.

I'd like to do that when I'm old enough.

Good for her! I love Rock music and my kids described me as an ancient hippie lol. I would want my Alexa playlist played which includes Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin and more up to date bands such as Greta Van Fleet and Five Finger Death punch. I have always said if I end up in a care home and they play any Abba I will get up on my zimmer frame and wreck the music system! I guess I am not cut out to live in a care home.

Depends on the imagination of the staff.

You are sorely mistaken if you think everyone sits around listening to Vera Lynn (unless they particularly want to)

Oh dear Silver, nothing wrong with Abba (listen to the lyrics properly!). My pet hates would be The Hollies, that Black Lace song (Ag-A-DOOOOOOOO aarrrggghhhhh), and at Xmas, after about a day of Xmas hits on the radio, anything else in that line!

If I go into a care home I would like to be entertained by songs from 1950 - 1980s. I recently visited such a home and they were listening and being encouraged to join in songs from the 90s -the 1890s! I did watch "The Good Old Days" though when it was on TV quite a while ago.
