We'd love folks on Gransnet to complete a survey about how your driving may or may not have changed since you have had grandchildren. It is open to all UK gransnetters with at least one grandchild who drive a car at least once a week. Note the survey is also open to MNers and there's one winner across all entries.

Here's the link: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/H5T68BX

Everyone who takes part will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will receive a £250 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Does having a DGD on your lap on a mobility scooter count?

Done. I drive my 3 DGC around quite a bit and find their constant squabbling a bit distracting. It's okay at the minute as they love the Christmas CD that we are playing and sing their hearts out.

done but a bit annoying! "Do you check your phone less often?" smacks of "have you stopped beating your wife?"

Standards of others? vary hugely

A few years ago, I was very concerned that my driving was not as it should be, so I did the Institute of Advanced Motorists test which was hugely satisfying - to me. When an advanced police driving instructor of many years experience told me that I was a good driver and that he had enjoyed taking me out for my test, I felt great. I can still make mistakes but have been trying for years to pay more attention, be less distracted etc etc and having the DGC has not affected that. The programme is very worthwhile, particularly if you feel that you may have picked up bad habits over time, or are losing confidence.

I found the speed awareness course I had to take after a speeding offence, was quite useful in making me aware of aspects of roadcraft I'd either forgotten or never known. However, I hope I never have to do it again. blush
