Hi everyone, I am a new member and I couldn't find any active groups for this area.

Deedaa Mon 18-Jul-16 21:44:23

Hi NannaJay I'm in Bracknell on the edge of Berks and Surrey.

Greenfinch Sun 31-Jul-16 14:04:56

And I'm a few miles away from Deedaa

Hi Greenfinch smile

Welcome nannajay. I'm on the SW London/Surrey border and we've had meet-ups in Dorking in the past and also Cobham. Hopefully another one can be arranged once the holiday season is over. I'd offer to organise one, but "headless chicken" is how I'll be for the next four weeks (with visitors and family commitments).

Greenfinch Sun 31-Jul-16 21:30:23

Yes, the Cobham meet up was good Granny knot. We just need to think of a place that is central to us all.

I forgot to say welcome nannajay

Hi NannaJay and welcome! I'm always up for a Surrey meet-up. Waving to Greenfinch and Grannyknot!

Hello alchemilliamollis. We must try to arrange a Surrey meet up soon. Is Camberley too far for most people ? We have had one or two small gatherings in Marks and Sparks coffee shop there but it is rather on the borders of the county but does include Berks and Hants grans.

Grannyknot Thu 04-Aug-16 09:59:29

Hi everyone! smile Camberley is probably a bit far for me ...

Greenfinch Thu 04-Aug-16 18:30:31

Where would be good for you Grannyknot

Grannyknot Thu 04-Aug-16 21:55:52

Hi greenfinch thats kind of you to ask: Dorking or Cobham again. But I will bow to the majority vote - if it's deeper into Surrey I will regrettably pass smile

Greenfinch Fri 05-Aug-16 10:16:34

I could manage Dorking by train but Cobham by bus I found too difficult especially as I got on the wrong bus and ended up with a long long walk !

Grannyknot Fri 05-Aug-16 10:47:44

I remember that. I think Dorking is very central.

Greenfinch Fri 05-Aug-16 12:10:31

Let's go for Dorking then.Any thoughts about venue and dates? This is addressed to all Surrey and West Sussex grans and any others that can get to Dorking.

alchemillamollis Fri 05-Aug-16 18:42:24

I would love Dorking. A friend was eulogising it to me the other day and I have never been!

So yes, please, to Dorking. I'd prefer to avoid 18/19 August but otherwise can be extremely flexible.

Greenfinch Fri 05-Aug-16 21:18:42

I think I would rather leave it until September. Would anyone like to suggest a few dates we could play around with?

MiniMouse Fri 05-Aug-16 23:19:04

Dorking would be good for me as I can catch a bus. I can do Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Fridays.

Greenfinch Sat 06-Aug-16 00:00:09

I don't know Dorking so someone would need to suggest a venue.

Grannyknot Sat 06-Aug-16 06:35:03

I love Dorking. We met previously in a place called Gorgeous Gerties and I think the general consensus was that it was great smile

September would suit me too, any day excepting Mondays.

Greenfinch Sun 07-Aug-16 11:33:43

Gorgeous Gertie sounds good. Did you go for coffee, lunch or afternoon tea ?
Would Friday 2nd September suit anybody/everybody ?
I can't manage Tuesdays.

alchemillamollis Sun 07-Aug-16 19:47:40

I can do Friday 2 Sept and Gorgeous Gerties sounds lovely.

Fridays and Wednesdays are best for me, though not Wednesday 7 Sept.

Grannyknot Sun 07-Aug-16 21:39:39

We had lunch smile

That looks perfect, Grannyknot. Lunch would suit me best, if it suits others.

Grannyknot Mon 08-Aug-16 09:03:57

I can do Friday 2nd September. smile

Goldenspring Mon 08-Aug-16 10:44:05

Hi everyone, Grannyknot has kindly told me about this thread. I am in Redhill and would love to come to your meetup in Dorking. Unfortunately I am on holiday 2 Sept, but hopefully there will be another opportunity for me to come along and meet you all. Hope you have a great time. I've never heard of gorgeous Gerties, so I'm off to have a look at that?

MiniMouse Mon 08-Aug-16 11:01:10

GK 2nd September would be fine for me, too smile Any more takers?!

Goldenspring Gertie's is lovely with a lovely shop full of temptation if you enjoy craftwork etc!
