Cheese profiteroles

I have been given a pack of M&S cheese profiteroles.

Obviously a savoury thing. But...anyone any idea as to how/when they are served?

I assume they are a sort of party food.
I have just stuck this pack in my freezer for the time being but would like to have some more idea about them.

Probably not with chocolate sauce........?

I bought some of these today. I put them in the freezer and will serve them with other hot nibbles with drinks over the Christmas period. We usually have neighbours in for drinks and that sort of thing is ideal. You'll enjoy them.

They look very tasty and I think they would be served as canapés or nibbles.

Serve with a glass of something nice, bubbly maybe?

Maybe with Prosecco?

Make fondue and serve with that? Or an onion dip?

They look rather nice.
An alternative to the ubiquitous sausage or cheese rolls, but quite expensive.

Serve hot with a sweet chilli dip?

Thanks everyone for replying to my query. Has helped me get my head round these now. Found it difficult to get away from cream and chocolate sauce with the word 'profiteroles'.

Will now keep in freezer until Xmas, then they can go on a buffet table alongside a nice dip.

Just served slightly warm, as nibbles with drinks? A French neighbour of a BiL (in France) has often given us gougere for drinks-nibbles - a bit similar and very moreish!

If they're the ones a friend served they don't need a dip - they go in the oven and there's a runny cheese centre that gets very hot!

I make Delia's Gougere which sounds similar. Delicious
with a salad or in my family's case, baked beans!

I’d just wolf them down, maybe with some ready salted crisps ?

Witzend Fri 28-Oct-22 14:11:54

I want some gougere now! TBH I could scoff a mountain of those intended as drinky-nibbles, and not bother with dinner at all.

I make them as snacks. Very easy, and a long, long time ago, my French friend called them " nun's farts" which goes as well as expected with the kids.

I have never heard of these. I'm drooling.
