I wonder what this lot are protesting about? The climate? Illegal migrants? Transgender issues? Car parking charges? Not enough cycle lanes?
I'm certainly not convinced that this particular tactic advances ANY cause - it's inclined to alienate me, and that's for sure!

It was a group calling for healthy and sustainable food. presumably it has given them loads of publicity.. Thank goodness the painting had glass on it..

I doubt if they'd have done it if the painting didn't have glass over it.

I can't get too upset about it. They've caused no irreparable damage.

Didn’t some group of nutcases do this before?

Anniebach Sun 28-Jan-24 15:12:05

There has been several attacks and it was stolen too

Pointless!

They made the news surely what they wanted?

Pantglas2 Sun 28-Jan-24 15:31:52

I wonder if they are the reason for the other thread on GN about soup shortages…😉

Why dont these people realise that it doesn’t promote their cause, the news is just about their actions.

JamesandJon33 Sun 28-Jan-24 16:22:58

Could they not have chosen a more appropriate painting. The Last Supper, The Potato Eaters, Warhol’s Soup Cans.? What has the Mona Lisa got to do with food.?

Mamardoit Sun 28-Jan-24 16:31:47

The painting is undamaged. I would much rather this than disrupt people going about their day to day lives. Gets their cause a couple of minutes on tv and everyone else isn't inconvenienced.

I can’t imagine such actions serve to promote their cause to anyone with half a brain.
