I would always welcome my partner getting involved in something which we could share

SheenaBatey123 Mon 27-Apr-20 13:41:12

I often have to ask him to get involved as there are usually aspects of what I am doing that I know he will make a better job of than I can.

silverdragon Mon 27-Apr-20 13:41:52

I'm just happy to share with someone I love - I know that sounds a bit twee but we've never lived together and just sharing time together is good enough for me.

We only have ours ...

maciv234 Mon 27-Apr-20 13:46:41

i dont mind at all

parkersheen Mon 27-Apr-20 13:47:52

My partner only tends to try to get involved in 'my stuff' if he is bored or thinks what I am doing is more interesting than 'his stuff'. So I immediately abandon 'my stuff' and leave him to it. Then I start tampering with 'his stuff' and he immediately gets the message and leaves 'my stuff' alone. wink

LullyDully Mon 27-Apr-20 13:49:57

He usually keeps his distance and gets on with his bits. Good job too.

janiceanne Mon 27-Apr-20 13:53:17

I like that my husband is interested in something that I am doing and cares enough to offer to be involved if possible.

DanniRae Mon 27-Apr-20 13:54:37

My husband started getting involved in how I ran the kitchen when he retired - it has always been my domain as he never ever cooks. So I said to him "OK fine, it's all yours. I won't come in the kitchen again and you can take over the cooking!" Happily (or maybe unhappily!!) it worked and the kitchen is mine again.

I Don't have anyone sad

mjk01 Mon 27-Apr-20 14:02:04

Everything is 'ours ' except when i buy biscuits as they all suddenly become 'his'. I've even bought ones i know he doesn't like, just so i can guarantee to get at least one out of a pack! ( he still manages to 'force them down!). So i think if i won i'd have the book and he could have the fit bit!

nichay Mon 27-Apr-20 14:02:10

I would think it was a bit odd initially...but I could get used to it

emmormous1 Mon 27-Apr-20 14:02:20

We both have different interests but if he does want to get involved, I let him.

Cameil Mon 27-Apr-20 14:05:28

Well in my family we talk about things,no one pokes there nose in each other affairs.

grannypiper Mon 27-Apr-20 14:06:10

My DH doesn't get involved in my "stuff", he is far too busy in one of his many sheds faffing with one of his many Motorbikes. Thats the way i like it grin

HarryLP Mon 27-Apr-20 14:07:18

That would be unusual, but you never know ?

Morgan9084 Mon 27-Apr-20 14:10:03

sharon103 Mon 27-Apr-20 14:30:37

Aww, not fair. I can't enter. I don't have a partner. sad

Patsyfagan Mon 27-Apr-20 14:34:50

I don't mind as long as it doesn't become his and not mine !

volcanopete Mon 27-Apr-20 14:36:31

I'd just let them get on with it-"me,me,me" is not a game I play.

My DH took over all the everyday cooking when he retired. Until then it was my domain. He did consult with me first, but I couldn’t hand it over quickly enough. I’m eternally grateful to have three meals a day made for me and that all those days of planning and cooking are long gone! If I ever feel the need to feed someone, I can bake a cake. smile
