Absolutely loving this book. It's a fictionalised version of Princess Elizabeth (as she was then) and Princess Margaret's nanny Crawfie. Apparently she wrote a book about life at the palace and was instantly dismissed. I haven't got to that bit yet though. I'm trying not to read it too fast because I don't want it to be over. If you're interested in the royal family and the 1930s/1940s period, I would definitely recommend it. It's out in paperback now and only £5.50 on Amazon. I think Fern Britten is an excellent author.

I have this on my kindle and have been saving it for a holiday, might start it tonight though after your excellent review.
