I am currently reading Paul Murray The Bee Sting long listed for Booker 2023. Great book enjoyable apart from the in vogue lack of punctuation (grates on me badly). While reading it and its topics I cannot help but think if this is nominated why wasn't Marian Keyes book Grown Ups (2021) a superb book, definitely comparable with Paul Murray book and incredibly used punctuation as you would expect from good if not great writers! I know Marian Keyes has railed against sexist bias previously in terms of Booker nominations but this has to be the most obvious! Any one else have thoughts on this?
