Apple Books ruined since downloading IOS 16.

I haven’t upgraded to 16.0 yet, don’t think I’ll bother now!

I am really cross “Blossoming”. Just downloaded a book I was looking forward to and this happens. I don’t feel like going on an extensive course to ascertain the workings of Apple’s “creative” team. Why can’t they leave well alone. Fiddle, fiddle just to change things for the sake of it. I set up family sharing with my dh but he will hate it. I just want to lose myself in Dr Zhivago bur no way can I do that with this frustration.

Had the same issue on my previous android phone. As a result, I refuse to make any upgrades when prompted to.

I’ve got 16.1.1 and everything’s OK. I might leave 16.1.2 till they’ve ironed out the complaints.

Mollygo. That is what I have on my iPad but it has changed over the last couple of days. Looked it up on Google and yes they have changed it. Mystery if you are not having a problem.

Your iPad must be newer than mine. I mostly read on my phone.
My iPad says it’s up to date but it’s only on 15.7.1. The books are fine.

According to DH lots of people have had this problem. There will be another update to fix it.

Thank you Elainel. That is a comfort. Until then I won’t be purchasing any more from Apple.

Just looked at iPhone and it is now 16.1.2 and the books are back to normal. The iPad is 16.1.1 so it looks as if an update has returned the books to what looks like the original on the phone. Just hoping the iPad offers 16.1.2 soon.
