Finally finished 2nd (final) wreath - no fat snowmen this time!

Phew - the robins were a #*#*#*# fiddle! I managed to mislay one robin’s tail and had to knit another - the first will now turn up, of course.

Now back to the worry-eaters for Knit for Nowt. Had an email yesterday from the woman who runs it - previous waiting list finally fulfilled, but she’s now inundated with over 1000 more requests! Hence a plea for all hands on deck.

They were worth it though Witz, it’s lovely.

I love your little Robins. Witzend you are so talented.

Auntieflo Mon 07-Nov-22 11:25:19

Witzend, your wreaths are so lovely.
Do you use a foam? ring as a base, and then knit a cover?
Are they all you own clever designs, or are they Jean Greenhowe patterns?
Apologies for being so nosy, I need a project to keep my fingers busy and to stop me being bored.

The robins are adorable! Witzend, not only are you talented, but you must have the patience of a saint! I've just started crocheting again, after donkeys' years of abandoning it! My efforts certainly won't be any competition to yours!

I sooo wanted the fat snowmen, but now I want the robins instead😬

Love the wreath. The robins are so sweet.
Wish I was as neat and even as you.

Absolutely love this and wish I had the skill and the patience to do it myself. So clever.

CraftyGranny Mon 07-Nov-22 13:43:40

They are gorgeous Witzend. I made one a few year back with a loopy wool, which works well too.

CraftyGranny Mon 07-Nov-22 13:46:10

I meant to mention that I have just started to crochet the Fireside Blanket (Attic24) to keep me away from the fridge! I don't know how long it will take though hmm

Thank you all for kind comments. 🙂🎄

Auntieflo, it’s the same wreath pattern as before, downloadable from the Lovecrafts site. If you search Christmas wreaths it’ll come up - it’s the one with (IIRC) a yellow bow and a rather gruesome looking elf. The actual wreath is pretty quick and easy. I just stuff it with polyester stuffing - I buy it online.

There’s no way I could invent any of the patterns! How people work these things out, I have no idea. The holly is out of Jean Greenhowe’s Christmas Special booklet, the robins are from an Alan Dart pattern - a robin is one of the inserts for his huge* Advent calendar, which I made a couple of years ago for the Gdcs.
*It just fits on the back of their kitchen door! Gdcs love it, though.

Perfection Witzend as always.👍
Is it for the craft fair, a gift, or for yourself?
My things dont always go to plan, so I keep a lot!

I love those robins Witzend.

Witzend Mon 07-Nov-22 17:36:04

It’s another for the school fair raffle stall, Namsnanny - dd will be manning (personning?) it yet again. So a) to make the stall look Christmassy, and b) a prize I hope someone will like.
🤞.

Thanks for the info Witzend, but , what does (IIRC) stand for?

Jaxjacky Mon 07-Nov-22 19:07:20

Can I have some raffle tickets please Witzend? I’m coveting, not a good trait.

Witzend Mon 07-Nov-22 19:13:20

Auntieflo

Thanks for the info Witzend, but , what does (IIRC) stand for?

If I recall correctly….

Nannagarra Mon 07-Nov-22 19:17:59

IIRC stands for If I Recall Correctly Auntieflo.
Another example of your superb workmanship, Witzend, which I love seeing.

Nannagarra Mon 07-Nov-22 19:18:43

X posts. Sorry.

Auntieflo Mon 07-Nov-22 21:35:00

Thank you both
