One of our local dentists is offering reduced rate wrinkle treatment for £150.

merlotgran Sat 30-Aug-14 16:38:50

My face is swollen after a painful tooth extraction yesterday. Not a wrinkle to be seen.

Only cost me 50 quid. grin

It's not what dentists should be doing! [old stick in the mud emoticon]

Nonu Sat 30-Aug-14 17:31:39

Really cannot think why ever not !

Sounds like good business practice: dentist has less time to fix your teeth because he/she is busy doing wrinkle treatments, you grimace more if you are in pain and that causes wrinkles and tension lines that the dentist can fix for you!

KatyK Sat 30-Aug-14 18:14:03

I haven't got wrinkles on my teeth grin

Dentists can be very good at injections - though I have met some who could do with a bit more practice on oranges.

Galen Sat 30-Aug-14 18:46:02

Oranges don't move around and suddenly bite you.
I note we haven't heard from JaneA
Judging by her youthful appearance I suspect she self treats with Botox!grin

When we went to have our holiday jabs, the clinic was offering Botox too. I picked up a leaflet but the nurse type person said it wouldn't be appropriate for me. I think it would take too much filling to pad out my wrinkles!

Elegran Sat 30-Aug-14 18:55:48

They would need a cement mixer for mine.

I think a Venetian carnival mask is best for me

goldengirl Sat 30-Aug-14 19:40:02

I'm very wary of Botox and in fact any cosmetic procedure unless it is really necessary. I don't think it's right for a dentist to offer Botox at all. S/he is a dentist for heaven's sake!

Many years ago I went to a doctor for a smear test and he noticed I had a large mole over my eye and offered to remove it not because it was dangerous but because I would 'look better'. I told him where to get off and left!

Galen Sat 30-Aug-14 19:44:38

Did he have time to remove the speculum?

Nonu Sat 30-Aug-14 19:56:30

Golden, lots don"t agree.

I think it is a case of whatever floats your boat!

It 's called diversifying. Farmers have been doing it for ages.

With everyone cleaning their teeth with fluorided toothpaste dentists have fewer cavities to fill, so they are filling the wrinkles instead.

jamsidedown Sat 30-Aug-14 22:54:33

I didn't know farmers did Botox ....

rosequartz Sat 30-Aug-14 23:07:21

Farmers are very versatile I'll have you know! grin

Ana Sat 30-Aug-14 23:15:36

I was going to suggest a service that farmers could perhaps offer, but I won't as it would be bound to offend some people...grin

rosequartz Sat 30-Aug-14 23:21:50

I used to go to the Young Farmers' dances in my youth.

They did tell me about some of the services they offered but I always declined.
I didn't need Botox in those days.
