I’m finally going to have to get to grips with mattress stitch. 😩

It’s always looked too much of a faff, and for the things I make (not clothing) a small back stitch inside the edges has worked fine and looks perfectly neat on the outside.

But for various reasons I don’t think it’s going to work for my current (more complicated) project. So I’m going to need a session or three with good old YouTube, and to be on the safe side I’d better knit a couple of small pieces to practise on first.

Please tell me it’s going to be easier than I imagine!

Good luck Witzend. I have tried and failed, so back to the old back stitch method for me.
Knowing how good you are at knitting, I bet you'll have mastered Mattress stitch in no time.

I join my crochet with mattress stitch. I watched YouTube videos showing how to do it. I found it easy enough to do.

I’ve just been watching a slow motion video, person was using a needle with a bent end, so much easier for picking up stitches. I had no idea such things existed but have just found online and ordered!
A lot of 🎄 stuff on ATM, but might get around to it soon, 🤞.
I did actually knit two small practice pieces yesterday.
